Getting stuff delivered or NOT!

Well, I went and bought a treadmill. I couldn't wait to get it here and start working out. Of course a car isn't big enough to bring it home and we needed someone to put it together so we paid the $60.00 for them to do that. Yea right! I should've known things were going to be bad. Just like last year with our drier.

First they were supposed to be here Saturday. They called because of the weather. Okay totally understandable. Then they were supposed to be here Sunday. Yes they came but the guy says they are just dropping it off and not putting it together. I was not a happy person. Someone screwed up and said we didn't need it put together. So then I have to call and set up another appointment for them to put it together. So , they were supposed to come today. But guess what? I looked at the darn thing and it's not even ours! They gave us some other guys treadmill. It has his customer name and his home phone number on it. And it isn't even the same treadmill we bought. Needless to say I was totally pissed at this point.

So I call this morning and now they can't pick up the one that's not ours and deliver the right one until March 4th! I was so not happy. We are getting our delivery fee back but still. What a pain in the a**

This is the second time in a year this has happened to us. I don't think we will be buying from this store again.

Ice Storm

As you all know we had an ice storm here Friday January 12th. Our power went out at 9:02 P.M and came back on at 10:30 P.M. YEA! or so we thought. I went to bed but my Mother and Daughter were still awake at midnight when the power went back out. I think everyone I know that lives in St. Charles had a power outage. Well Saturday comes and goes with still no power. On Saturday it was really pretty scary out. I will never forget the sound a tree makes when it cracks and falls to the ground with ice on it.

We went to my Uncle Ricky's house to drop off a battery operated lantern for my little cousin and I could see this big tree branch leaning in the road. I told my mom to make sure she pulled the car up in case the tree limb falls. While I was in the house I said "That tree looks like it could fall any minute." Well, that was the wrong thing to say because BAM! There goes the tree. It scared me to death. I am so glad my mom pulled the car up a ways.

Anyways, Saturday night in the middle of the night 2 tree branches on our tree fell. It is not near as bad as it could've been considering how huge the tree is. And other people had it way worse with there trees too. But here is a few pic's anyway of our tree mess.

As you can see a branch fell and was leaning on our power lines that lead from the house to the pole. We were really afraid that the power line wouldn't be able to hold the weight of the tree branch. As the days went by the power line kept drooping more. Luckily U.E finally came and took care of it on Wednesday.

Anyways, back to my story.

The house was getting kind of cold by now. Sunday morning no power again. It is 53 degrees in the house. Pretty cold to me. My Aunt Carol's power is back on so my daughter Michelle goes to her house to stay. I went with my mom out to he fiance's house to take a shower. Everything is electric in our house so no hot showers :(

My mom and I decided to stay home Sunday night since we had to work on Monday. It was just much easier to do so. Plus I would have had to come home anyway in the morning to take the dog out. It was pretty cold, but we had lots of blankets so it wasn't horrible.

So Monday still no power. Michelle again stays at my Aunts and mom and I decided to stay home again. It was a little colder in the house but my other Aunt and Uncle and there 3 kids decided stay at my Aunt Carols too. My mom and I decided that 9 people would just be too many to stay together.

So Tuesday morning comes and HOLY CRAP it was cold. Now 44 degrees in the house. I almost went to work in my P.J 's because I didn't want to have to put cold clothes on. And yes they were cold. It felt like I stuck them in the fridge. BRRRR.......

We decided we had enough and that 44 degrees was just too cold to stay at the house another night. But guess what? The power came on while I was at work on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. I was soooo happy. Not only had I been cold for 4 days or so, but talk about bored! I couldn't even read very well by lantern light. Gave me a head ache.

So that is My story. Hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Sad News

Michelle's friend Katie's (some of you know her) house caught on fire yesterday. Everyone got out of the house and all of the animals survived as well. Only part of the house is damaged because they were able to catch it pretty fast, but Katie lost everything because her room was totally destroyed. What do you do for somebody that that has happened too? She is staying at our house for the next 2-3 weeks while they get the house livable and Michelle gave her some of her old clothes that are to small on her now. But it's so sad I don't really know what to say. So could everyone just pray for her and her family that they get through this troubling time okay?

Michelle is driving

Today I took a vacation day so I could take Michelle to get her drivers license. So we get there around 8:30 A.M. and off she goes with an instructor. I was so nervous. It is really hard to watch your child walk off to do something like this. I kept thinking Oh my gosh! What if she doesn't pass. It was making me sick. I know she drives well, but you get nervous with stuff like this. I was just going to be so upset for her if she didn't pass.

Well, I shouldn't have worried at all. She did pass with an 87% . I think that's pretty good.

So everybody stay off the roads now because Michelle is driving. :) Just kidding. She really is a good driver.

So a little while ago she asks if she can take the car to Katie's. Of course I had to say yes, but inside I was screaming NOOOOO........... I know she can drive but it's still scary. You guys know all the crazy drivers out there. I guess it will be awhile before I'm calm about her taking the car.

Now I am going to have to find her a car to drive. I know this sharing thing is going to get old really fast. She is gone right now and I don't need to go anywhere but fell like dang! I'm stuck here :)

Well, I guess that is all for now. I'm just rambling on and have probably said the same thing just in four different ways. Catch you later.

Thanks much for inviting me to the party. But since I'm sick I didn't want to get anybody else sick. So I'll just have to settle on calling you guys at midnight so I can be on the phone with all of you. :)

My daughter is even going to her friends house so I guess I'll just watch the One Tree Hill DVD's I got for Christmas. No big deal, but I am cursing this darn cold that I have had since Christmas. I do not wish it on anybody. Okay, enough about that. You all have a good time.

Lights and Chistmas Trees

Well, so far our tree has survived the cats. Every morning we have to pick ornaments up off the floor and every evening we have to shoo a cat out of the tree. No big deal . Then I come home last night and I turn on the tree. I start to walk past and I went darn it! The top half of the tree isn't lit. So I figure it got unplugged by the cats. Nope! The darn lights just don't work anymore. So our tree survived the cats but not the lights LOL!!
It looks pretty dumb with only the bottom half lit up and blinking but what are we to do? I know I'm not taking all the ornaments and garlan off just to put new lights on the top half of the tree. So now we just have a hoosier tree :) OH WELL! Maybe next year all will be good again.

Cats and Christmas Trees

Last year we had two new kittens at Christmas time. Well, we got them in September but they were still kittens by Christmas. We figured the Christmas tree would be an issue with them since they were kittens. So we went to Lowes and bought a cheap slim fake tree. It's a nice tree once you put lights and stuff on ,but it is just not me. I like a nice big full fake tree. LOL!!

Anyways, I was really glad we did this. After we put the tree up with the lights we waited until the next day to put the ornaments and stuff on. Well, this is what we found.
So this year we have another new kitten. We have had him since May but he is still a kitten. The other two Caesar and Roman are a year and a half old now. We figured we wouldn't have to worry about them. We just needed to worry about Antony the Little One. We figured it would be so much easier this year only having one kitten. Well, we were WRONG! Here is a pic from last night when we put the tree up.


This is Roman. The tree seems to be his favorite spot. And of course he is trying to teach the Little One how to climb trees too. As you see in the pic bellow. Roman is in the tree and you can see the Little One's is trying to climb in. And of course Caesar didn't want to be left out so he joined in the fun too! This is going to be another interesting Christmas. It's a good thing my other two cats are older and don't want to be bothered. LOL!!

My Pets part 2

My pets oldest to youngest are Bud, Dusty, Happy, Caesar, Roman and Antony (Little One)
Here is a picture with all of the cats together. We tried to get the dog in there but the cats kept running off. This was not an easy picture to take.

This is Buddy but we just call him Bud. Michelle got him as a Christmas gift 12 years ago. I think. We couldn't think of a name for him and one day he was under the bed and Michelle kept saying my buddy is under the bed. Soooo....that is how he got his name.


These two are Roman and Caesar. I was only supposed to keep Caesar but he was really shy so the foster mom asked if I would foster both of them until I was able to adopt Caesar. So I said okay. Of course aftrer I had them two weeks and there personalities were so different I couldn't decide which I wanted to give up. So I ended up with both of them. I'm sure I had sucker written on my face somewhere. LOL! I am glad we kept them both though. We have had them a year and a half now.

My Pets part 1

This is my fat cat Dusty. He is a brother to my best friends cats. We had to bottle feed them when they were little because they had no mother. It was a great experience.

This is Antony (after Marc Antony) we call him Little One though. I caught him in the bathroom sink the other day. Needless to say I had to run and get my camera. I then got him out and I haven't seen him in there since. I guess he realized he wasn't alowed to be in there when I turned the water on him. LOL!!
Here is another cute picture of Michelle and Little One. He is yawning in this picture but it looks like he's being a mean wild cat.

This is my dog Happy laying in her chair. Atleast she thinks it's hers until the cats make her get up :)

Float Trip Entry 2 (Friday Day)

So, all of us get up Friday morning and eat some breakfast talk for awhile and then get ready to go to the beach. We had a really good time on the water. We all put our chairs in the water and just sat and hung out listening to the music and just having a good time. At one point in the day Violet decided it was quiet time so she decided to read a book. Well, not everyone liked that (LOL!) and they decided she could only have an hour of reading time and then she had to get drinking again. Well, do to the fact that everyone kept giving her crap she didn't even get her whole hour in. So that means next year she gets to add this years time to the hour she will get next year. LOL! At least I think it should be that way.
More and more people came throughout the day. Some would leave for awhile and go eat lunch and then come back. All and all it was a blast.

Storm

Last Friday I'm sitting at work and all of a sudden we hear the rain pounding on the roof.
It didn't seem that bad so I decided to take the umbrella and go on my break. Well, I get
to the back door and can't even open it the wind was so strong. At this point I'm like OH CRAP!
I need to call Michelle. So I go back to my desk and call my daughter. She is already down in the basement
with the animals. THANK GOODNESS! I was pretty scared something was going to happen to her.
My Aunt picked her up right after the storm and brought her to their house in case it started
storming again. So when I get off work I head up Elm St. and it looks like a war zone. I could
not believe all of the huge trees that have been up rooted or split in half. As I turn on a side street
there is a tree in someone's house and a tree laying on part of someone's house. WOW! What a site that was.

So I get Michelle and hurry home to check our house out. Everything looked pretty good.
We were very lucky. We had some large branches and lots of small stuff to pick up. It ended
up being 11 bags of yard waste and 1 small pile of large branches. The top of our chimney was hanging
sideways but no big deal since we went all electric.

Speaking of electric. We had none. Thank goodness it wasn't really hot out. My Aunt Carol
still had electricity so we took our freezer stuff over there but it was already to long for our refrigerator stuff.
It all had to be thrown out. You know you just don't realize how expensive stuff is when you only have to replace things here and there.
When you have nothing and need everything it gets expensive. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Anyways, my daughter thought it was to hot in the house so she spent the night at my Aunts house. I didn't
want to leave my pets in the dark all by themselves so I stayed home. It actually got pretty cold
Friday night. So I wake up Saturday hoping to go to my friend Chris's house for a party. But of course
it was not meant to be. The lights were still out and it was to hot to leave my animals without cold water
all day. At least I thought so. The lights finally cam back on at 7:30pm Saturday night. WHOO HOO!
We were pretty lucky. My Uncles lights didn't come back until Monday at 10:00 am.

So everything was good on Sunday. On Monday I get up and get ready for work and get in the car and drive up
the street. I hear this funny noise and my car is leaning to the passenger side. I say what the ****! I get out and
I have a flat tire. ****! So I have to wake up my mom and get the air compressor out so I can take my car to
Safeway to get my tire fixed. Of course they are busy so I leave my car there and my mom takes me to work.
I was an hour late. I had a nail in my tire. That is like the 5th one in a year. Do my tires have signs on them or something?

Needless to say my weekend sucked! It could have been worse though and I thank God that it wasn't.
I do hope Chris has another party soon so I can come over. I think I need it. LOL!

OH WELL, all is better now. I should have more float blogs with pics this weekend.

Float Trip 2006 Entry 1

Hey all! This is the first blog post for the float trip. I will have more later with pictures.
I had an Awesome time. I do not have time to proof read so if I go on and on I'm so sorry.
We started out late on Thursday. We were supposed to leave around 10:30 A.M. or so
but stuff happens and we didn't head out until 1:00 P.M.
When we get down to our campsite at Huzzah we start unloading and setting up our tents. IT WAS SO HOT OUT!
We were sweating very badly. We're talking dripping. Thank you Diana and Mike for helping
me set up Robs tent. (Well, for doing most of the work really.) They also lent me an air mattress
incase Rob didn't make it there in time.
So anyway, after we set up the tents we all put our suits on and went down to the water. It
was a little cold at first but felt great since we had been sweating so much. We hung out there
for quite a bit and then we all hopped in the truck to go back to the campsite and eat.
Mike was driving and he decided to take a detour around the camp site. It was Thursday so there weren't
many people there yet. But we stopped and talked to a few people. We finally got back to the camp site so we could eat
and just hang out.
So around 11:00 P.M. or so Rob still hadn't made it so Diana came with me to air up the mattress. I went
to bed around midnight and couldn't sleep. Around 1:00 A.M. I here Rob pull in. Well, he was late because
a police officer pulled him over because he only had 1 head light. He had it with him but since he was so late coming
down he decided to wait to put it in. Anyways, the cop runs his license and finds out he has a warrant for his arrest.
Can you believe it! What bad luck. So the police keep him there for 2 hours trying to figure out what the warrant is for.
After 2 hours they decide to let him go since nobody seems to know what the warrant is for. LUCKY HIM! So, Rob was able to come party with
us the rest of the weekend. Now he just has to get that warrant taken care of now.
So after Rob gets there it starts getting really, really windy and starts raining off and on. Bill then decides to put on his rain coat.
He can't quite get it over his head so his arms were up in the air with the rain coat over them. Well, the wind caught them and Bill sort of flew.
Kind of funny huh? Anyways he kind of did a jig jag flying thing and hit Liz's car with his body and flew over the hood.
So the next morning we were all asking how Liz's car got dented and that is what we were told. Pretty funny!!

My first ever blog post!

Well, here I am! My very own blog. Not sure if I will keep this up or not. We'll give it a try and see. I still have to figure out all of the stuff on here. I might need some help with that. LOL!

Well, today I didn't do much. After work I went to O'Charlies for dinner with my daughter. I love that place. I really wanted to go see Superman but Michelle wanted to eat. She won obviously. Maybe tomorrow I can talk her in to seeing it. Especially since Rob and Josh went with out us. (bad, bad)

Right now I am just sitting here trying to figure out this whole blog thing and trying not to think about all the stuff I need to do for the float trip in 5 days. Can you all believe it's only 5 days or so away?

I guess I better get to it then.

I'll try and post something more tomorrow.
